Mr. Ramin Manawi, Consul General of Afghanistan in Vancouver, attended the third annual Breaking Bread, Building Bonds gala held on March 09, 2026 at Fraserview Banquet Hall by Foundation for a Path Forward (Tariq Tayeb and Yusuf Seraj) alongside a diverse gathering of faith leaders, community builders, policymakers, and frontline workers from across British Columbia.
This year’s event, focused on Mental Health and Self-Care, featured contributions from dignitaries, experts, and individuals with lived experience, who shared valuable insights on trauma, healing, and community resilience. The program also included meaningful discussions on Indigenous approaches to wellness, harm reduction, and strategies to address burnout and social challenges.
The communal iftar provided a unique opportunity for participants to come together across faiths and cultures, fostering dialogue, understanding, and solidarity.
On the margins of the event, Consul General Manawi commended the organizers for creating an inclusive platform that promotes mental well-being, strengthens intercultural connections, and highlights the importance of community support. He also noted the continued contributions of diverse communities, including Afghan-Canadians, in building a more inclusive and resilient society in British Columbia.
