Consul General Manawi Attends the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Helpline 24th Anniversary Commemorative Event
The S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Helpline 24th Anniversary Commemorative Evening was held on January 5, 2026, to recognize more than two decades of dedicated service to diverse communities across Canada.
Mr. Ramin Manawi, Consul General of Afghanistan, together with government representatives, partners, and supporters, attended the event and engaged with S.U.C.C.E.S.S. leadership and distinguished guests. The discussions focused on community well-being, refugee support, and the vital importance of culturally and linguistically responsive services.
 
The event highlighted the Helpline’s longstanding role as a trusted source of emotional support, particularly for newcomers and refugees navigating settlement challenges. Ms. Queenie Choo (CEO), Mr. Yoon Lee (Program Manager), and other speakers reflected on the Helpline’s evolution over the past 24 years and its significant impact on the lives of individuals and families across Canada.
 
Government ministers, Members of the Legislative Assembly, and other dignitaries also addressed the audience, acknowledging the vital role played by the S.U.C.C.E.S.S. Helpline in strengthening social cohesion and supporting vulnerable communities. Speakers expressed appreciation for the organization’s leadership, staff, and volunteers for their unwavering commitment to service.
 
Special recognition was given to the Helpline’s volunteers and frontline staff, whose dedication, particularly in providing interpretation, translation, and culturally sensitive assistance has been essential in supporting refugees and newcomers during times of need.
 
The evening served not only as a celebration of the Helpline’s 24-year legacy, but also as an opportunity for meaningful dialogue among community leaders and partners. Consul General Manawi reaffirmed his appreciation for the work of S.U.C.C.E.S.S. and its Helpline, noting their important contribution to community resilience, inclusion, and well-being.
