Consul General Ramin Manawi welcomed the Honourable Senator Yonah Martin, at the Consulate General of Afghanistan in Vancouver for a courtesy call on January 22, 2026.
The two sides discussed a range of issues of mutual interest, including the delivery of consular services to Canadians, Afghan-Canadians, and those in need of assistance, as well as the role of the Consulate in representing the people of Afghanistan in British Columbia and Western Canada. The conversation also covered how diplomatic and parliamentary cooperation can better support the well-being of communities and strengthen relations.
Consul General Manawi expressed his gratitude to Senator Martin for her visit and for her ongoing support of community service initiatives. Senator Martin who is a long-standing advocate for community engagement and public service, in turn, thanked the Consulate General for its dedicated service and reaffirmed her commitment to supporting efforts that assist Afghan-Canadians across the country.
